ClarifyDocuments (“we,” “us,” or “our”) uses artificial intelligence (AI) to assist users with document processing, analysis, summarization, and related services. This statement provides transparency regarding AI functionality, data handling, decision-making, and user consent.

1. Use of OpenAI’s API (Paid Plan)

ClarifyDocuments uses the OpenAI API under a paid plan. Under this plan, your uploads and AI‑generated content are not used to train or improve OpenAI’s models. Your data is processed solely to provide ClarifyDocuments features and is deleted within our retention period unless you choose to keep it longer. See our Privacy Policy for details.

2. Purpose of AI

  • AI is used to enhance efficiency, generate insights, and support user decisions.
  • AI outputs are probabilistic, generated based on patterns, statistical models, and user-provided content.

3. Data Handling & Privacy

  • AI processes content uploaded by users for the sole purpose of providing the requested features.
  • Processing by third‑party AI services is performed solely to deliver features, consistent with our policies.
  • Processing is performed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, including retention and deletion options.

4. International Data Transfers

  • Your data may be transmitted and processed outside your country of residence, including the United States, by OpenAI.
  • For EU and UK users, transfers are supported by appropriate safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) where required, to comply with applicable data protection laws.

5. User Controls

  • Users can manage, review, and delete AI-generated content within their account.
  • Users may choose not to use AI features if they prefer not to have their content processed by external AI services.
  • Users can submit a support ticket via the Support Page to request deletion or review of AI-processed content.

  • AI outputs are informational only and may contain errors.
  • Users are responsible for verifying critical information before acting on it.
  • AI should not be relied upon as a substitute for professional, legal, financial, or medical advice.

7. AI Training Data Transparency

  • AI models (generally) are trained on publicly available data and licensed data.
  • Your content processed by third‑party AI services is handled in accordance with this Statement and our Privacy Policy.
  • Users confirm they have rights to any content uploaded and should avoid uploading sensitive or regulated data unless they understand the implications described in our policies.

8. AI Decision-Making Explanation

  • AI outputs are generated through pattern recognition, statistical inference, and predictive modeling.
